How BizHonyaku works, features, and limitations

Getting Started

BizHonyaku is an AI translation service built specifically for Japanese business documents. It understands keigo (respectful), kenjogo (humble), and business tone — and preserves the original formatting of your files.

New users get 5 free translations per month. Upgrade to a paid plan for unlimited access.

Supported Formats

BizHonyaku supports these file formats:

· PDF (.pdf) — preserves layout and formatting

· Word (.docx) — preserves styles and structure

· PowerPoint (.pptx) — in-place slide text translation

· Excel (.xlsx) — translates cell contents

Maximum file size: 20MB.

Supported Languages

Japanese to/from English, Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), and Korean.

Optimized for business keigo, technical terminology, and legal vocabulary.

Glossary

Create custom glossaries to ensure consistent translation of internal terminology, product names, and industry-specific vocabulary.

Go to Settings → Glossary, then add source/target term pairs. The translator applies these automatically.

You can maintain multiple glossaries and switch between them per project.

Templates

Save common document types as templates to keep translation tone and style consistent.

Examples: contract templates, email templates, press release templates.

Each template can include custom instructions (e.g. "maintain desu/masu form", "keep technical terms in English").

Review Workflow

After translation, the review screen shows the original and translated text side-by-side, segment by segment.

Edit inline if needed — changes auto-save.

Once approved, download the file or share via a public link.

Free: 5 translations/month, files up to 5MB, standard quality

Pro: Unlimited translations, files up to 20MB, priority support, glossaries & templates

Security & Privacy

All traffic is encrypted with SSL/TLS.

Uploaded documents are used only to produce the translation, then automatically deleted (within 7 days).

Your data is never used to train AI models.

API (Coming Soon)

A REST API for programmatic translation is in development.

Integrate into existing workflows, automate translation in CI/CD pipelines, or build custom applications.

Limits

· File size: 5MB–20MB depending on plan

· Pages per document: up to 500

· Concurrent translations: up to 3

· Storage retention: 7 days (auto-deleted)

Troubleshooting

If a translation fails, first check that your file is not corrupted or password-protected.

Scanned PDFs (image-based) go through OCR and may have reduced accuracy. Use text-based PDFs when possible.
